Our client is a nationally-recognized network of plastic surgery clinics across the country, specializing in weight loss solutions for their customers. Currently operating 40+ surgery clinics, the Chief Operating Officer needed additional support on the Executive team. They created a new position – Vice President of Field Operations to work alongside the COO and the rest of the leadership team, keeping a focus on the field operations and driving continued revenue growth.
Being a new position, there were several conversations around what the overall responsibilities of the role would be? Many revisions were made to the list of expectations before all members of the Executive team were aligned and in agreement. The search was for an individual with multi-locational retail management experience, with a vast knowledge of geographical marketing campaigns, regionally specific sales strategies, and a thorough understanding of talent acquisition. The search was on!
Several local candidates were identified, though many were experts in one or two of the four areas of focus, but unfortunately, not all of them. We expanded the search nationwide, and proactively identified an individual not currently on the market. Through several conversations, we determined his experience was in line with our client’s needs and expectations. It was such a unique position, the candidate felt like it would be a natural fit. He flew across the country to interview at the corporate office in person.
His personality was the deciding factor. He not only brought 25 years of valuable and applicable experience, but his personality complimented those on the leadership team, adding perspective, experience, transparency, and humor.
After interviewing 5 well-qualified candidates, our client confidently selected our out-of-state recommendation for their new Vice President of Field Operations position. He was able to finish up his consulting opportunities out of state and visited several of the surgery centers as he drove across the country.
Our client didn’t let geography get in the way of finding the right individual to oversee their business. Though the relocation added to the overall search, they knew what they wanted and we happily delivered!
